52 SUPER SERIES COLLECTION
52 SUPER SERIES - PURE SAILING PERFORMANCE
The 52 SUPER SERIES is established as the world’s leading grand prix monohull yacht racing circuit. It’s an in-shore, TP52 (monohull), fleet racing circuit, based on a tightly controlled, carefully managed box rule. Teams can design build and campaign their own boat to their own ideas, as long as it fits to the “horsepower” and build rules. Starting on 2nd March 2020, up to 13 teams from nine different countries will battle it out over a series of five week-long regattas between May and September. Each of the five regattas consists of around ten races, with a mixture of windward-leeward and coastal courses depending on the venue. Over the course of the season all results stand – there are no discards – and typically that means around 45 to 50 races in the season. Lowest score wins. Quantum Racing are the defending 52 SUPER SERIES Champions.
2021 marks the 10th season for the 52 Super Series which has grown to be one of the most acknowledged sailing classes worldwide.
THE QUANTUM RACING
Quantum Racing is a 52-foot racing yacht that competes in the TP52 class. It is much faster than many larger racing boats, achieving speeds of up to 25 knots. The TP52 is very stable due to its lightweight hull, deep keel with a large bulb, powerful sail plan, and the high performance hydrodynamics of the hull.
Quantum Racing is equipped with Fusion M™ Grand Prix sails from Quantum Sails. These high modulus, carbon fiber membrane sails feature a custom fiber array and shapes developed with the company’s iQ Technology™. The panels are laminated in a two-step, vacuum-pressure process, cured, then shaped—a method that guarantees the repeatability of sail shapes.
